Docs & guides

Everything you need to run your server.

Quickstart

Deploy your first server

Dashboard → Deploy a server → pick a type, size, OS and region → pay (crypto or card). The server is online in about a minute; account credit is applied automatically when you have it.

Connect over SSH (Linux)

Open the server card → SSH details. Use `ssh root@<address>` with the shown password, or add an SSH key under Account first and it's preinstalled. No SSH client? Hit Open console for a terminal in the browser.

Connect over RDP (Windows)

Open the server card → Connect (RDP). Use Remote Desktop (mstsc on Windows, Microsoft Remote Desktop on macOS) with user Administrator and the shown password.

Find or reset your root password

Server card → SSH details shows it (eye icon to reveal). Reset root password generates a fresh one and applies it inside the server within ~45 seconds — no reinstall needed.

Manage

Reboot, stop & start

Buttons on the server card. Stop halts the machine (billing continues — destroy if you're done with it; unused time becomes account credit).

Reinstall / change OS

Server card → Reinstall. Pick any OS — this wipes the disk completely, so snapshot first if you need a way back.

Resize a server

Server card → Resize. Upgrades preserve your data; you only ever move to a bigger plan. The new monthly price applies from your next renewal.

Snapshots & restores

Server card → Snapshots. Take up to 2 free point-in-time copies of the whole disk; Restore rolls the server back to that moment (current data is replaced).

Networking

Firewall rules

Server card → Firewall. Adding the first rule enables default-deny — everything not explicitly allowed gets blocked, so allow SSH (22) or RDP (3389) first. Sources take an IP or CIDR.

IPv6 & additional IPs

Every server ships with IPv6 (server card → Network). Need another IPv4? Add one for $3/mo — it's billed together with the server's renewal.

Point your domain

Create an A record at your DNS provider pointing to your server address (and an AAAA for the IPv6 if you use it). Your box-*.vpshaven.xyz hostname always follows the server, even across maintenance.

Boot from a custom ISO

Server card → ISO. Paste a direct public link to a .iso (no query string), wait for it to load, then Attach & boot. Detach to boot from disk again.

Billing & account

Monthly subscriptions

Each server bills monthly from its deploy date. Renewal reminders go out 3 days ahead; account credit is debited automatically, otherwise renew from the dashboard with crypto or card.

Grace period & suspension

Miss a renewal and the server keeps running for a 3-day grace period. After that it's suspended — data stays safe, and renewing powers it straight back on.

Cancel & prorated credit

Destroy a server any time. Unused paid time is converted to account credit automatically and applies to your next renewal or deploy. Receipts for every charge live in Billing → history.

Securing your account

Account tab: add SSH keys, verify your email (enables password recovery), and turn on two-factor authentication (any TOTP authenticator app + recovery codes).
